We recently took a trip to the various libraries around our fair city and were shocked to learn that a number of landmark texts were missing from their shelves.
Where was My Erotic Life by Richard Nixon, for instance? Or The Art and Fundamentals of Competitive Defenestration by Edita Cernosek? You know, important books. Thought-provoking books. Books that are necessary for the proper moral evolution of society-at-large.
Our initial surprise turned into confusion, which then turned into anger, followed by disappointment, arousal, hunger, drowsiness, arousal again, and finally... motivation. (with more arousal later!)
Whilst a lesser organization might simply dash off a memo to the libraries scolding them on their critical oversight, the Marxist Nudist Taxidermy Club (being an institution known worldwide for its generosity and gumption) decided to do something better.
Why burden the under-funded, under-staffed library system with another problem when we could simply donate the needed volumes ourselves? And to make things even easier, why not prep the books in advance with all the required barcodes and classification numbers?
Thus, with the ritual sacrifice of a virginal LaserDisc™ player to the elder god Hrff'tzanw, an oath was made: the MNT Club would seed the libraries of Toronto with six great books on April 1st, 2012.
As you'll see below, we made good on our promise...
